Standards of Practice
Home inspections are in compliance with the Standards of Practice for which that inspections is performed in and the inspection agreement. Each state has their own Standards of Practice that must be followed to complete a home inspection. The Standards of Practice have a unique list of systems that are inspected, and what is excluded from the inspection. A written report is given to the customer to reflect the home and its systems at the time of the inspection. Home inspection reports do not predict the future, or the life expectancy of the systems.
The Standards of Practice are the law, and help customers get a better understanding of what is actually required to be in a home inspection. We highly recommend you review the Standards of Practice for the state the home is located.
